Licenses are a pain. Copyrights are not patents and Viral Licenses are being a major impediment to progress as everyone reinvents their own Viral Code.

This section enumerates those packages known to have non-viral licenses, their intent and links to homepages. (Please, do not add items you have not managed to build.)

Do not list GNU licensed software of ANY sort. If you want to list such, start another section.

  • [imath] Integer/Rational Arbitrary Precision Arithmetic.
  • [curl/libcurl] for transferring files with URL syntax, supporting FTP, FTPS, HTTP, HTTPS, SCP, SFTP, TFTP, TELNET, DICT, LDAP, LDAPS and FILE.
  • [TPL] Data serialization/deserialization.
  • [SQLite3] minimal SQL database API. Nicely complementing the ubiquitous dbopen(3).
  • [SQLiteODBC] Desktop Database wrapper of SQLite library into an ODBC driver, (license appears near-identical to SQLite3).
  • [Haru] free PDF library.
  • [Libev] High-performance Event-loop - loosely modelled after libevent, but without its limitations and bugs.
  • [PDcurses] Public Domain, Portable Curses - with docs and some binary builds.
